		Two members have recently qualified as Assistant Teachers.  Congratulations to Marie Cheek and Maxene Ward who gained their certificates after a gruelling training schedule and tests.  They are now assisting Melvyn on Saturdays with his teaching groups and with 'C' Squad on Thursdays.  The Club encourages and supports members in gaining Teaching and Coaching qualifications.  There are some funds available to the Club for training, and the SWIM 21 accreditation has opened other doors for funds in this area as well.  So if you feel like taking a more active role then please discuss it with Doug.
					There have been two gala wins for Phoenix recently.  The first was the Lucozade Trophy  which we competed for at      Uttoxeter, and the other was more recently at Matlock.  Thanks to all the efforts of the swimmers who took part and to the coaches for the organisation.  May there be many more over the coming months.  The Trophies that the club holds are kept in the cabinet at Lonsdale pool.  When you are next there go upstairs and take a look!!
